Tolerate tolerance. 1

Nitpick: To what extent should I tolerate tolerance of evil? (For example, I'd condemn a reporter who writes an uncritical piece about some new kind of medical quackery, such as the healing powers of magnets, or what have you.)

Giving something positive publicity is not just tolerating it. You might well criticize the journalist who writes an article about the practitioners of magnetic healing without ever mentioning that it doesn't work under controlled circumstances. You should probably not criticize the guy who never bothers to write about magnets because they don't seem newsworthy.
