A totalitarian dystopia. Two uniformed officers dragging away a screaming man. “No, you don't understand! I have qualia! I swear!” An older officer tells the younger one, who hesitates for a moment: “Don't pay attention. He had his appendix removed. He's just programmed to say all that stuff as if he's human.”
