If a "morally significant agent" is one whose goals I would want to further, then I am the only inherently morally significant agent. The moral significance of other agents shifts with my mood.
What if the other agent is more "you" than you are? You are hiding the complexity of "moral significance" in the "I".
There is literally no agent more me than I am. I don't mean to brag, but I am pretty damned me.
