Well, that was interesting, if a little bland. I think the main problem was that Scott is the kind of guy who likes to find points of agreement more than points of disagreement, which works fine for everyday life, but not so well for this kind of debate.

By the way, I noticed that this was "sponsored" by the Templeton Foundation, which I and many other people who care about the truth find deeply repulsive.

In response to this comment, I just spent some time on the Templeton Foundation web page to see why you don't like them. Wow, interesting. It's clear why you wouldn't like them. They're like the Less Wrong antithesis. They seem to have a completely opposite POV, but judging from the comments I've read so far, are quite intellectual as well. I spent the summer reading Less Wrong... I think I'll give these guys some time (and form my own conclusion).
