Though good popular writing is, of course, very important, I think we sometimes overestimate the value of producing summaries/rehashings of earlier writing by Vinge, Kurzweil, Eliezer, Michael Vassar and Anissimov, etc.
I must agree with this, although video and most writing OTHER than short essays and polemics would be mostly novel, and interesting.
