I wouldn't even say that the rationalist view is properly seen as being a sub-set of physical materialism, just an evolutionary descendant of materialism. More like abstract ideal dynamicism.
Yes, agreed. (Whenever I've used and use the phrase 'physical materialism', this is what I'm referring to.)
