A final thread for answers to specific questions.
Third question: Where is meaning?
Thoughts are about things. What aspect of the physical state of an object makes that state "about" something in particular, or about anything at all?
I think this is a big distraction. As you pointed out in a comment, this is the purpose of the "Where is the chess in Deep Blue?" question, and it has nothing to do with the question you're posing about qualia. That way lies madness and John Searle.
