Why are these executives and salespeople trying to convince others to go into simulation rather than living their best possible lives in simulation themselves?
Because they are fickle demigods? They are are catering to human desires for their own inscrutable (that is, totally arbitrary) ends and not because they themselves happen to be hedon maximisers.
