This comment is a little late, but the last paragraph mentioned actually shouldn't end in a double quote, because it's the same speaker as the next paragraph. (This tripped me up while I was reading.)
Indeed! (For that matter the single versus double quote stuff in that paragraph still isn't right.)
Edit: Specifically, "well-known religious rituals" should be followed by a single quote not a double one.
