Echoing what others have written, this is an excellent and well-written intro to MML. But you should be clear from the beginning that this is all standard, at least in certain circles, and that you're just laying the groundwork for something innovative to be posted later. This can only add to the rhetorical strength of the piece, since the reader won't go in with the heightened skepticism that they reserve for the completely novel.
