Shangri-La dieters: So I just recently started reading through the archives of Seth Roberts' blog, and it looks like there's tons of benefits of getting 3 or so tablespoons of flax seed oil a day (cognitive performance, gum health, heart health, etc.). That said, it also seems to reduce appetite/weight, neither of which I want. I haven't read through Seth's directory of related posts yet, but does anyone have any advice? I guess I'd be willing to set alarms for myself so that I remembered to eat, but it just sounds really unpleasant and unwieldy.

Perhaps add your flax seed oil to food, preferably food with notable flavors of various kinds. It's tasty that way and should avoid the tasteless calories that are supposed to be important to Shangri-La (although I haven't read about Shangri-La, so don't trust me).

Flaxseed oil has a strong odor. I think most people try to choke it down with their breath held to avoid the smell. It probably wouldn't count as 'flavorless calories' if you didn't.

If you can't stand that, eat it with some consistent food.

Of note is that I was recommended fish oil instead as it has a better omega-3/omega-6 ratio, so I'll probably go that route.
