I'm waiting until October to post it (so it aligns with the quotes and open thread), I have a couple of ideas how to structure it though
Option 1: Structure it identically to the quotes thread, and post it each month. Pros: Lots of opportunities for status boosting and hopefully lots of incentive to try new methods. Cons: People who aren't specifically having akrasia/productivity problems will likely be annoyed to see a million comments proclaiming the awesomeness of GTD and removing trivial inconveniences.
Option 2: Same as Option 1 but only do it once every 3 months. Mostly just an attempt to strike a balance between the people who have issues with akrasia vs those who are here for the other posts.
Option 3: Borrow Sketerpot's format from 6 months back and have a new anti-akrasia tactics thread, complete with statistics about the effectiveness of each method for the LW community. Pros: More useful than just boasting. Cons: I would need to relearn basic statistics and update the effectiveness statistics in a timely fashion (not usually a problem, but I'm meant to be writing a thesis at the moment, not doing maths or having an incentive to hang out here a lot). Possible solution: If someone else wants to write the post up in this format, I hereby grant permission to do so.
Regardless of which option was chosen there would obviously need to be a re-assessment after the first one to see whether there is enough support for an ongoing I-rationality thread.
