Cambridge Less Wrong Meetup Sunday, Sep 19

2 Post author: jimrandomh 14 September 2010 02:10PM

We're still doing Cambridge/Boston-area Less Wrong meetups on the third Sunday of every month, 4pm at the Clear Conscience Cafe (C3) near the Central Square T station. Several people have indicated they'll be coming for the first time, so we should get a better turnout than in the past. I'll put a Less Wrong sign out on our table. All are welcome to attend, and I look forward to seeing you there!

Yes another Cambridge meet up which I'll be out of town for. My prior for this being a conspiracy was rather low, but each incident pushes probability of that being true higher :)

D'oh! In the future, if you know in advance that you'll be out of town on the third Sunday of a month, post or email me (jim@jimrandomh.org) about it and we'll see if we can reschedule around it.

Is the Less Wrong meetup the third Sunda of every month, or the first AND third Sunday of every month?

I set up the meetup on meetup.com:

Let me know.

In the past it's only been the third Sunday, but I'd be up for making it more frequent if others are also interested. Make it both and we'll see how the attendance is.

This meetup was a great success with 7 attendees including a bunch of newcomers, and interesting conversations about AGI, nootropics, synthetic biology and other topics.

May I suggest you put this meetup and future ones on the calendar?

How long does the meetup typically last?

2-3 hours.

Phew - I thought from the title this was occurring in Cambridge, England. It would be a terrible slight if their meetups started before Oxford's! (expected to begin in October)

We're used to slighting Oxford here in ur-Cambridge, but I'd take a meetup anytime.
