I would downvote this twice if I could.
I don't like it when people say something is bad without saying why.
I don't think this should've been a post - it sounds like a request for money. It's not organized in a way to make it relevant to other people.
Fair enough. I really don't want individual people asking for money on LW, though I'm fine with people speaking on behalf of causes; it just makes the incentives that much worse otherwise.
But also, I don't think anyone should be funding a Penrose-esque qualia mysterian to study string theory.
