One person planting seeds of rationality can make a difference, and we can do even better if we organize. This is not obvious, why would organizing be a net benefit? It can also introduce much overhead.

Sharing ideas and results can lead to more effective actions.

It can also introduce much overhead.

There are various ways to do this without huge overhead, e.g. a mailing list. (LW probably counts as something with a fair bit of overhead.)
