It ignores the possibility of waking up as a slave with no opportunity for suicide.

Perhaps not quite as implausible as waking up (or staying asleep) as batteries, but certainly in the same vein!

There are not all that many scenarios in which future agents would bother rebuilding us to use as slaves. We just wouldn't be worth the hassle.
