Is it just me, or do you feel a certain respect for Harold Camping? He describes himself as "flabbergasted" that the world didn't end as he predicted. He actually noticed his confusion!
(I can't find the Open Thread for May 2011.)
He also predicted that the world would end on May 21, 1988 and September 7, 1994. I don't think respect is appropriate.
Too bad! I see that the latest reports have him updating to October, so he didn't attend to his confusion for very long this time either.
