Also, don't allow deletion of a comment with replies.
If you allow editing someone can edit the comment to "(deleted)" or "(withdrawn)" or something like that.
Yes, there is a reason my "don't allow deletions" suggestion was made as an enhancement to Emile's "save editing history" suggestion, rather than stand alone.
Though a lot of comments get deleted by people who aren't aware that they just received a reply.
