They're not mutually exclusive. I just feel at the moment that I gain less utility from spending the money immediately than I expect to gain from receiving donation advice from the community (including "save it - a better cause might come along).

I don't expect others to emulate me here though. I guess I should add a "donate or save?" post to my list.
