I should have made it clear when a trivial inconvenience ceases to be trivial.

Basically, if you have an object level understanding of what's in your way, can think of a way to avoid the problem, and don't see any other steps involved, then you should go ahead and do it.

I personally am normed to give up waaay too easily compared to what I can do.
