Not sure if it's specific enough, but mental illness type problems can be cancelled out by it.

Could you elaborate? There seems to be some anecdotal evidence (and more specifically the theory of "Depressive realism" that seem to show that (misapplied) rationalism can be detrimental to ones mental health.

Keyoword: missaplied. Someone who actually read the sequences, understand them, and apply them as recommended wont misapply them.

I'm not sure if reading the sequences is sufficient to ensure correct application.

But regardless can you give an example of rationality cancelling out mental illness issues?
