...You're right, that was pretty sloppy. I felt vaguely justified in doing so since I often think about meta-ethics implied by or represented in first-order ethics (not that the levels are easily distinguishable in the first place in practice) and thus sort of made a point of not distinguishing them carefully. In hindsight that was dumb and especially dumb to to fail to acknowledge.
