Also, this seems to have similar infinite regress problems. Suppose you have to take into account a couple of criticisms of some theory. How do you evaluate them? Well, you look at criticisms of them.

And criticisms of the criticisms of the criticisms.

And so on.

Yes. That is unavoidable. If you're looking for a justification, you didn't find it. If you're looking for a reasonable basis for making a decision that must ultimately be subjective, the criticisms help.
