I've been reading OB and LW for years. I'm sure I've read at least 3/4 of what was posted on OB and 1/2 of highly voted posts on LW. I wouldn't call myself a beginner, and I still really appreciated this post.

Every once in awhile it's nice to be able to step back and be reminded what it's all about, so thanks for writing this!

I point people who are new to this to the Sequences but that always feels like I'm dumping too much on them. Hopefully, this post will make a better introduction to rationality and why we need it.
