For the curious:

Transfection is the process of deliberately introducing nucleic acids into cells. The term is used notably for non-viral methods in eukaryotic cells.

Anyhow, what makes this LW-related? Is whatistransfection.com a personal project? Academic? Aimed at selling a product?

I recall similar talk on the Open Cures mailing list for the related topic of protofection. No idea if this is related somehow or not -- who is "we" for the OP?
