I'm vegetarian for the same reasons. (ie, the whole "don't want to support killing of animals and such, want to at least try to reduce the amount of killing and suffering I cause"), and yet I found the comic to be amusing.

Of course it's oversimplified. It's a webcomic trying to be silly and amusing.
