Without death we cannot truly have life. As such, what a travesty of life it would be to achieve a machine-like immortality!

Sounds like sour grapes. I'd heard of people holding such sentiments; this is the first time I've actually seen them expressed myself.

An infinitessimally likely result will occur at least once in an infinite number of trials

Actually, it's not guaranteed that an unlikely thing will happen at all, if the instantaneous probability of that thing diminishes quickly enough over time.

I'm assuming a fixed probability of occurrance per trial, with an infinite number of trials.
