I've been trying this today and early results are encouraging. Every time I have a negative or limiting self-thought I make a double-clicking motion, and remind myself to not to reinforce negative beliefs.
It happens more than I would have predicted!
I like the "double click" analogy. If I started this for something I wanted to avoid, I'd do a "right click left click" for "open context menu, click close".
Reminds me of hanging spells...
