Emotional salience is a very important aspect.

When I first read about the singularity about five years ago, it turned around my worldview completely- for a short time, till the reality shock faded and i returned to the normal reality. The singularity just doesnt feel "real" anymore.

I startet reading LW some months ago, and already many of the things that made a strong impression on me in the beginning dont feel real anymore.

I cannot be a rationlist while beeing emotionaly stuck in the Unthinking Deeps .
