Upvoted since it's (to me) a very interesting topic, even if I disagree with your conclusion.

In short my thesis is : taking a risk decreases your knowledge of the world, and therefore your ability to optimize until you know if you won or lost your bet. But explaining it in details grew so much that I made a new article about it.

Your article is so long I haven't read it yet. This summary is enough for me tho.
