I thought Less Wrong-style rationality was parochial, or basically "Eliezer's standard". I might have done better to apply this quote from the Quantum Physics Sequence elsewhere:

Many of these ideas are surprisingly conventional, and being floated around by other thinkers. I'm a good deal less of a lonely iconoclast than I seem; maybe it's just the way I talk.

Only how was I to know it is more general?

I also thought this, and have thus been leery about how enthusiastically I promote it.
