I have no idea how you would avoid Belief in Belief and the self deception that you have deceived yourself. Being that Self Deception can get really meta, really fast I have to echo EY's skepticism that such a move is even possible, though I believe do see what Hanson is doing.

It seems this line of inquiry should be approached with an eye to clarify how much one truly value's truth. I find myself asking "Is this my true rejection?" as I read those recent blog posts and I find myself reluctant to announce "If I could reject unfashionable far truth and only value near truth I would but since I cannot I will do my best to be a good Far Truth-Seeker."
