I couldn't figure out the point of this story, beyond the implied slogan "Bayes rules!" Maybe someone can explain it?

It dovetails with Tsuyoku Naritai and some other things.

Also it placated whatever part of Yudkowsky feels the need to write science fiction from time to time. :-)
