We often hear about how professional philanthropy is a very good way to improve others' lives. Have any LWers actually gone this route?
Just started on Wall Street
How's it going?
We often hear that? What do you mean by professional philanthropy here?
I mean the general line of reasoning that goes, "Go do the highest-paying job you can get and then donate your extra money to AMF or other highly effective charities." The most oft-cited high-paying job seems to be to work on Wall Street or some such.
Oh, okay, I thought you meant something else.
