For good or ill, (my understanding of) the established downvoting norm on LW is that explanations aren't required, and an unexplained downvote should be read as a flat statement of: "I don't want to see more content like this."
It's possible to ask why something you're written is downvoted (especially if there are a number of downvotes), but it should be framed as a polite request, not a demand.
