I stated a belief with minimal decorative fluff ("I think this implies that most people who would read this comment are of the opinion that...") in an attempt to explain the reaction.

Independently, I also believe the support could have been better phrased.

Thanks for pointing this out though. I'll try to make it a point to voice agreement and positively reinforce agreement when it's not borne of confirmation bias.
