This presentation is a pretty good description of some of the basic points oft discussed here:
An algorithm feels like free will from the inside and Omega has the outside view, and so cannot be gamed.
Ethics is a set of reusable computational shortcuts.
Fully recursive reasoning compels cooperation between symmetric agents.
I guess all these points bear repeating, given how counter-intuitive they appear. Using a simple fully deterministic world to present them, without any quantum or random muddiness of our world is a nice touch.
