Well, this can easily become a costly signalling issue when the obvious (from the torture-over-speck-supporter's perspective) comment would read "it is rational for the Nazis to exterminate the Jews". I would certainly not like to explain having written such a comment to most people. Claiming that torture is preferable to dust specks in some settings is comparably harmless.

Given this, you probably shouldn't expect honest responses from a lot of commenters.

if you are a specker, you ought to decide that, barring changing Nazi's terminal value of hating Jews, the rational behavior is to [harm Jews]

The use of "specker" to denote people who prefer torture to specks can be confusing.
