For a quick fix to the own-karma problem, get the firefox Stylish extension and add this stylesheet:

@-moz-document domain("lesswrong.com") {
span.label, span.score, span.monthly-score {
display:none !important;
}
}

If you add .votes to that selector, then you also hide the points on comments and posts. I.e.

@-moz-document domain("lesswrong.com") {
span.label, span.score, span.monthly-score, .votes {
display:none !important;
}
}
