I tried to be vegetarian for several months at the suggestion of a friend. Went back because I felt "meh" about the whole endeavor and it wasn't making me better off in any perceivable way. Also I'm very picky with regard to food: when I go to a new country, I often find that I cannot eat any local food there, and have to survive on familiar processed food from stores. Later I find a couple dishes that I'm okay with, and stick with those forever.
