For instance, Lukeprog is the only person I know who rejected religion for the right reasons: asking the questions in good faith, then looking up and thinking about the answers. Have you noticed the number of citations at the bottom of many of his main posts? It could have been only to show off, but I bet it would have been noticed here.

The evidence I have say Luke knows more about the current state of philosophy than most philosophy graduate students. Also, why would you think such knowledge necessarily imply being capable of writing philosophy papers (which by the way I think he can), let alone actually doing it? Being an expert on something is not being the same as being an expert at it.

You also appear to rely on mainstream authority a great deal ("failed undergraduate"). What are your credentials, then? What did you accomplish, or write? More broadly why should I listen to you? Also, a quick glance at your profile clearly shows your comments are not loved here. Yet you stay. Why? Do you think you can have a meaningful influence here despite your low karma? Or does LessWrong gives you some benefits?

All those questions are genuine. I want to know what could possibly have generated this comment. Please answer me, in private if you want (further replies from me will now be private anyway).
