This overall topic is known as collective intelligence, where the word "collective" is intended as a contrast to both individual intelligence and AI.

It is not intended to contrast with Artificial Intelligence, it is intended to contrast with individual intelligence whether that individual intelligence is artificial or not. I note this because the subject of my Masters research in (narrow) AI was, in fact, focused on collective intelligence algorithms.
