Isn't signalling just the practice of having non-obvious characteristic A and then exhibiting obvious characteristic B because
P(A|B) > P(A) && P(B|A) > P(B)? Which means that B gives information of A.Intelligence is non-obvious, a degree in classics is. Peacock strength and cunning is non-obvious to peahens, but big tails are. Having intercontinental missiles is classified information, but moon landings are sensational news.
