I'd consider the question of your position on regulation to be, if you could choose for the government to increase or decrease regulation, but you have no other effect, which would you choose?

I consider myself anti-regulation. If they decreased regulation to the point where increasing it would be good, I'd consider myself pro-regulation.

True, but it can be approximated as such. If the government regulates what needs to be regulated most, with a certain error corresponding to how bad the government is at figuring out what needs to be regulated, how much should the government regulate?
