Top-notch skill in any field is rare by definition, but philosophical skill seems more difficult to measure than skill in other fields. What makes you think that MIRI+FHI+friends are better positioned than, say IBM, in this regard?

AFAICS, they have redefined "good philosopher" as "philosopher who does things our way".
