A lot of things modern "conservatives" consider traditional are recent innovations barely a few decades or a century old. Chesterton's fence doesn't apply to them.

I would guess that this comment came out of the discussion about homosexuality and male to male intimacy between friends further down in the thread.
Drug prohibition is also something that's roughly a century old and Konkvistador wrote a post writing that he would be under some circumstances be okay with getting rid of it.
