I think the more proper translation of "it depends" would be "как сказать".
Also, while it is true that the Russian language has no word for "privacy", note that it also has no word for "gun" :-)
Стрелковое оружие (firearm) (?)
That doesn't cover artillery, unlike the word "gun".
