Ok, I think we're running into a semantic difference here. The several articles I quoted above described using simple and positive language, having some stories, some flashy language and graphics as Dark Arts.
You don't believe they are Dark Arts. That's fine. So if you think the things I described above are ok, that means to me we are good to go with what we currently have :-)
Dark Arts generally involve deceit and you are basically talking about persuading the yokels using crude and simple propaganda methods. "Rationality good, hate bad! You get rational about sex you get lot of sex!" :-D
