I'm new here. Been lurking occasionally for a few weeks. I have finally signed up. On principle should I avoid voting? (For the time being?)

What reasons would you have for not voting?

I was worried that it may be discouraged. I came from Reddit and most subs seem pretty against non-subscribers voting. I wasn't sure how that would affect new members here,

If I remember correctly the voting system takes into account your newness, and won't let you overly downvote without sufficient karma.
