I second rf and Michael G.R.
I can't tell what concrete behavior Eliezer is advising us against. Per rf, it doesn't seem to match up with the common usage of "devil's advocacy". Is "don't argue as if you genuinely believed other than you do" a good summary?
Tangential argument: existential risk maximizing actors, thank goodness, don't exist, nor do more than a tiny number of people seeking to destroy humanity. Beware the Angry Death Spiral.
